It all started with a non-running 1969 Camaro that sat in a forgotten corner of an apartment complex. At 15, I scribbled a note, stuck it under the windshield, and waited. A month later, the call came: "You still want it?" For $125 and some serious teenage grit, my friends and I pushed that heap a mile and a half home. Thus began my love/hate relationship with a rusty old beauty that taught me how to wrench—and how to negotiate! After two years of blood, sweat, and maybe a few tears, I sold it for $1,800, turning that into another '69 Camaro that I held onto for 22 years.

Growing up, I was lucky to have a dad who kept a fleet of Cadillacs and a garage packed with tools, teaching me the essentials of car care. But it was the C3 Corvette that truly stole my heart. The 1968 model, to be exact—the curves, the lines, the way it screams "classic" without even trying.
The '68 was the first of the third generation, and while earlier Sting Rays were cool, let’s be real: when people hear "Stingray," they picture the C3.
It’s iconic.
I've had my hands on dozens of Corvettes, restoring six of them to their original glory (okay, maybe with a few tasteful tweaks here and there). The first was a LeMans Blue '68 coupe, and let me tell you, I learned fast that every nut, bolt, and part number matters in the Corvette world.
Provenance is king, but I also believe each Corvette should reflect its owner.
It’s more than a car—it’s a story.
As they say, you don’t really own a Corvette. You’re just its caretaker for a while, making sure the legend lives on for the next lucky soul.
